US Auto Market Continues Downward Trend in August

Sales Forecast Shows American Auto Market Continues Downward Trend in August



16.5 Million New Vehicle Sales remains an historically great year for the Car Business!

WardsAuto has issued a forecast calling for U.S. auto dealers to sell and deliver 1.51 million new cars, SUV's and trucks (light vehicles) in August.

  • WardsAuto forecasts daily sales rate (DSR) of 56,081 over 27 days, which is a 3.2% decline from August 2016 (26 days).
     
  • The WardsAuto forecast predicts a 0.5% DSR downturn from July 2017, which contrasts with the 3-year average increase of 2.7% between the two months.
     
  • WardsAuto's report puts the Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate of sales for August 2017 at 16.5 million units, which is below the 17.1 million SAAR in August 2016 and the 16.7 million SAAR in July 2017...
